Is the future wireless?
The MIT science department has have developed a new wireless technology with the ability to triple current wireless speeds for the transfer of data. According to the International Business Times the new technology has been dubbed MegaMiMo 2.0 and has the ability to increase data speeds by 330%.
The MIT’s MegaMiMo 2.0 works by connecting several routers and allowing them to work together to transmit data over the same spectrum. The system used in similar in size to a standard wi-fi router and could be useful in high-capacity events where large numbers of people need large amounts of bandwidth.
According to the team who made the discovery, this technology could be applied in mobile technology to solve similar congestion issues.
